Creating an order yourself

Not every sale starts on your storefront. A customer calls you or sends a message on WhatsApp, and tells you what they want. You can place their order for them.

Getting to the form

Open Orders from the menu, then press Create Order at the top right.

The Orders screen header, with the Create Order button at top
right.

Filling in the order

The form is divided into five sections — products, payment, notes, customer and tags. You can start filling in however you like, but the steps below are the easiest.

1. Add what they are buying

Press Add product. A window opens with a short list of your products.

Search for the products the customer wants and tick them. When you are done press Add. Search By also lets you search only by Name or by SKU.

Back on the form, each item has a small box for managing its quantity. The + button increases the quantity and - decreases. The bin button at the end of the row removes the item.

2. Choose the customer

Every order needs a customer. Search for them by name, phone number or email in the Customer box on the right.

If it is a new customer, press New and fill in their details. Their name, phone number and street address are required; email is not.

Once a customer is attached, their saved address appears below as the Shipping address. Check it, and press the pencil button if it needs to change. Any change you make applies to this order only — tick Also save this address to the customer's address book if you want it saved for next time.

3. Set the delivery charge

Press Shipping Cost. Your saved delivery rates are listed, and you pick one.

If this particular order needs a different amount, type it into Custom amount (৳) and press Apply.

4. The remaining fields

  • Add discount offers two choices. Apply coupon is for a coupon code your shop offers. Add custom discount is an amount you decide yourself, as either Fixed or Percent.
  • Notes is for instructions from the customer, such as a delivery request. It prints on their invoice.
  • Tags let you label the order so you can find it again later.

5. Create it

Press Create Order at the top right. The order is placed and you are taken to the order's screen.

After you create it

The order arrives as Needs Confirmation, exactly like one placed from your storefront, and still needs confirming.

The items are counted as Reserved straight away, so the stock is held for this order.

Payment is recorded afterwards, not on this form

The Payment section here only shows the total. Once the order is created, use Record Payment on the order's screen.
